The President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, attended the Teachers Awards Presentation Ceremony at the Nayopi Business Centre, Providence yesterday afternoon to mark the 32nd Anniversary of Teachers’ Day Celebration in Seychelles.

Seychelles gets technical support to strengthen its food control system
The five-day workshop funded by the European Union (EU) to foresee the implementation of a facilitated assessment of the quality of food produce or imported in the country using the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and World Health Organisation (WHO) food control system assessment tool, is being held at the Nayopi Business Centre, KB Emporium, Providence. It was opened yesterday morning by the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, Flavien Joubert.

Join us for a little Independence week celebration as our ‘Eat for our Health’ campaign gains more visibility. On Saturday June 25, a group of over 80 health staff were invited to a vegetarian-themed lunch as a token of appreciation for their work against Covid-19.
The high point of the lunch, hosted by the vegetarian restaurant Nayopi, was a presentation by the ministry's Nutrition Unit on the benefits of more plant-based foods in the diet (see separate story above).

ESA Hosts a Ceremony to Reward Entrepreneurs Trained in 2019
The Enterprise Seychelles Agency hosted a certificate presentation ceremony to reward all of the entrepreneurs who attended trainings organized by the Agency during the year 2019. The ceremony was held on Friday 21st February 2020 at Nayopi Business Centre, in Providence.
Independent School Class of 2019 Graduate
he Independent School S5 class of 2019 graduated on Saturday in a ceremony where they were presented with their IGCSE certificates. Those who excelled in their exams were also presented with the Cambridge learner’s award. There were 57 students out of 74 scored 5 ‘C’s or better. This represents 77% of the students. Twenty-four (24) students out of 74 scored 5 ‘A’s or ‘A*’s, representing 32% of the students. 36% of all grades are A to A*, while 80% are C or higher.



President Faure visits APDAR
President Faure visited the APDAR Headquarters located at KB Emporium in Providence, which houses the APDAR’s Prevention, Education and Research Units as well the Human Resources and Administrative Offices. At the Headquarters, President Faure was able to meet various staff and discuss APDAR’s ongoing work and holding a meeting at NAYOPI Business Centre.

Think Together: an initiative to promote student motivation and engagement
The programme took place from November 18-25, 2019 and concluded with a gathering of various stakeholders at the KB Emporium, Providence. Designated Minister Macsuzy Mondon, Minister for Education and Human Resource Development Jeanne Simeon, principal secretaries from various ministries and departments, chief executives as well as head teachers and other social workers were present.
